This is the only occasion where most of the time the preparation and planning could have been going on for years. Nothing else compares to the fashioning of a wedding day. It is the stuff of dreams and desires!
A celebrant delivered ceremony has the advantage of being able to say and read absolutely anything you like! Unlike a registrar, there are no dos and don’ts for a celebrant.
Often the most common time a couple will turn to a celebrant is when they have travelled abroad to get married, and family and friends have not been able to attend for various reasons. So, on their return they choose to have a ceremony for all their family and friends, and for it to be celebrant led.
I will write and deliver a ceremony that will be bespoke for each couple. Myself and the couple, and other family members if you so wish, can meet as many times as is needed to achieve the right balance of information and detail. This will enable me to create a bespoke and customized ceremony for the couple. As a celebrant I will also be able to offer other elements for your ceremony such as handfasting and unity sand to name a few.
One of the most commonly asked questions is if a celebrant can legally marry a couple.
All registry offices across the country can conduct legal weddings. However celebrants are unable to conduct legally-binding marriages. This may change at some point in the future. Until then couples must go to get legally married in a registry office with witnesses. This only needs 2 other people along with the bride and groom, and takes about 10 minutes. Some registrars will attend the ceremony and do the legal requirements, but it very much depends on your local council. Some do and some don't.
There is no guarantee that your local council will comply.
